Philippine Airlines Expands Domestic Flights Ahead of October 2025 Peak Travel Season

Philippine Airlines (PAL) is preparing for a surge in passenger traffic this October 2025 by expanding its domestic flight operations across key routes nationwide. The flag carrier announced that it will mount additional services on several of its busiest routes, providing more travel options and increasing seat availability in time for the peak holiday travel season.

Starting in October, PAL will boost frequencies on major domestic routes. The Manila (MNL)Butuan (BXU) service will expand from 14 to 21 weekly flights, while Manila (MNL)Cagayan de Oro (CGY) will grow from 35 to 42 weekly flights. Passengers bound for Cotabato (CBO) will see flights increase from 11 to 14 per week, and Manila (MNL)Legazpi (DRP) services will rise from 21 to 28 weekly. Manila (MNL)Dumaguete (DGT) flights will jump from 14 to 18 weekly, and the Manila (MNL)Tacloban (TAC) route will increase from 21 to 25 weekly flights.

For leisure travelers heading to Siargao, PAL will offer multiple access points. Manila (MNL)Siargao (IAO) flights will operate daily, while Cebu (CEB)Siargao (IAO) services will reach 21 times weekly. In addition, Clark (CRK)Siargao (IAO) flights will run daily, offering convenient options for travelers from Northern Metro Manila and Central Luzon.

Boracay-bound passengers will enjoy robust connectivity, with PAL operating 42 weekly flights between Manila (MNL) and Caticlan (MPH), and 14 weekly flights between Cebu (CEB) and Caticlan (MPH). Travelers heading to Coron (USU) will also have multiple choices: seven weekly flights from Manila (MNL), 14 weekly from Clark (CRK), and 21 weekly from Cebu (CEB). Other routes include Manila (MNL) – Antique (EUQ) with three weekly services and Manila (MNL)Catarman (CRM) with four.

In a move to further enhance capacity, PAL will upgrade five of its Manila (MNL)Iloilo (ILO) flights per week to the widebody Airbus A330, effective from 08 December 2025 to 28 March 2026. This adjustment is expected to provide additional seat availability during the busy holiday season.

According to PAL Express President Rabbi Vincent Ang, the expansion highlights the airline’s mission to connect more Filipinos across the archipelago while supporting local economies and tourism growth.

For the upcoming peak season, PAL will operate a total of 1,154 weekly flights out of Manila, reflecting a 7% increase in frequency compared to the previous period. The move will add over 14,000 weekly seats to the carrier’s network, providing more flexibility for passengers planning their holiday travels.

To ensure a smooth experience, PAL is reminding passengers to arrive at least three hours before departure for domestic flights and four hours for international flights. Travelers are also encouraged to check their flight status and terminal assignments on the official PAL website at www.philippineairlines.com.
