Air New Zealand is currently seeking out delectable treats that will appease the cravings of their passengers while flying 33,000 feet in the air. This airline is renowned for elevating its snacks to new levels and is now initiating the Great Kiwi Snack Off — a quest throughout the country to find the most mouth-watering and satisfying Kiwi snacks for their onboard menu. All local snack suppliers in New Zealand are welcome to submit their Expressions of Interest (EOI) to participate.
“We revamped our domestic snack program in 2021 to huge success, but we’re ready to take things up a notch with even more variety, flavors, and surprises across all flights and mealtimes. We’re seeking a diverse range of snacks that cater to different dietary needs and time-of-day appetites. Think sweet, savory, healthy, indulgent, and everything in between, and catering for a greater range of dietary requirements and preferences,” Leanne Geraghty, Chief Customer and Sales Officer at Air New Zealand stated that the airline is committed to delivering a snacking experience that is unparalleled.
The airline is looking for snacks that tick all the boxes. The snacks must cater to diverse dietary requirements, be sustainable, and have a touch of Kiwi flair.
All New Zealand-based suppliers are welcome to participate in the EOI, which will close on 01 May 2023. The goal is to introduce new snacks on Air New Zealand flights before the end of 2023. The EOI will encompass the entire range of snack options available on flights, from Domestic to International, but not including the beloved Air New Zealand lolly, which will remain a fixture on the menu.
Through this open tender process, Air New Zealand hopes to discover the most innovative and distinctive boutique food and snack suppliers that may not have been previously encountered. The airline is extending the invitation to express interest to all regions of the country, providing even the smallest boutique suppliers with the opportunity to showcase their snacks onboard.
