The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) issues a directive to temporarily close all smoking areas in all terminals of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
Based on a social media post Tuesday this week, the airport operator said that the directive is in compliance with the national government’s mandate to curve the further spread of the Coronavirus diseases (COVID-19).
“As smoking demands the individual to remove the required face mask & face shield, and also disobey the physical distancing measures of persons gathering in one area, this temporary ban serves a reminder to all for strict compliance with the standard health protocols,” according to the management of the country’s premier gateway.
The smoking ban at all NAIA Terminals will be in effect until further notice.
Will the other airport authorities and operators in the country have their own “smoking ban” similar to that of MIAA’s?
