IATF: Non-Essential Outbound Travel of Filipinos Now Allowed

The Philippine government, by means of IATF Resolution No. 79 has lifted the foreign travel ban for Filipinos effective 21 October 2020 amidst a huge number of active COVID-19 cases in the country.

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) said Friday afternoon that the restriction for non-essential outbound travel of Filipinos will be lifted on the 21st of this month:

In the same 79th meeting, the IATF lifted the restriction of non-essential outbound travel of Filipinos effective October 21, 2020. They may be allowed to leave the country subject to the submission of confirmed roundtrip tickets and adequate travel and health insurance for those traveling in tourist visas, execution of an immigration declaration acknowledging the risks involved in traveling and a negative Antigen result taken within 24 hours before departure, subject to the Department of Health (DOH) guidelines. Outbound Filipino travelers shall likewise follow the Guidelines of the National Task Force (NTF) for returning overseas Filipinos.

Also included in the IATF Resolution released today is an amendment to the age restrictions of people who may go out of their households for work or to buy essential goods. People aged 15 to 65 years old will now be allowed outside of their homes according to the IATF.
