Emirates Expands Global Travel Network, Connecting Passengers to 1,700 New Cities Worldwide

Emirates has made a significant leap in expanding its global connectivity, doubling the number of cities accessible through its partnerships over the past year. This development now allows travelers to connect to nearly 1,700 additional destinations worldwide, greatly extending the airline’s reach beyond its existing network. On average, more than 61,000 passengers benefit each week from seamless travel through Emirates’ shared networks with a diverse range of partners.

The airline’s strategic efforts include forging new partnerships and strengthening existing ones, spanning across airlines, rail services, and even helicopter operators. Currently, Emirates boasts 162 partners in over 100 countries. These include 31 codeshare agreements, 118 interline partnerships, and 13 rail and helicopter service connections. This extensive network enables travelers to enjoy enhanced connectivity, seamless baggage transfers, and frequent flyer benefits across multiple carriers and modes of transport.

For partner airline customers flying with Emirates, the airline’s robust network of over 140 destinations is now within easier reach, offering seamless connections through its hub at Dubai International Airport (DXB). Emirates continues to provide industry-leading experiences both on the ground and in the air.

The airline has introduced 16 new partnerships in the past year, including codeshare agreements with Avianca and Batik Air Malaysia. In addition, it has established interline arrangements with KAM Air, Sri Lankan Airlines, and Kenya Airways, among others. This expanded connectivity enables customers to explore diverse regions such as South Asia, Africa, and the Middle East with ease.

Travelers can now also benefit from single-ticket itineraries that include connections to European cities via Emirates’ rail partners. The airline’s partnerships with major rail companies, such as Trenitalia, Austrian Rail OBB, and Swedish Rail SJ, allow customers to effortlessly combine air and train travel. Emirates even offers urban air mobility solutions through a groundbreaking interline agreement with BLADE, enabling helicopter transfers between Nice and Monaco.

Commenting on this growth, Adnan Kazim, Emirates Airlines’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, said: “In the last year, we’ve doubled down on our strategy of deepening our global presence… while organic growth will always be at the heart of our plans, we’ll continue to leverage the strength of our partners’ complementary networks.”

Emirates’ long-standing collaboration with flydubai is another key pillar of its connectivity strategy. This partnership provides customers access to over 230 destinations across 100 countries. Since its inception in 2017, more than 17.5 million passengers have flown on the combined networks of Emirates and flydubai, benefiting from optimized schedules, seamless connectivity at DXB’s Terminal 3, and shared loyalty benefits.

For leisure travelers, Emirates offers unique interline partnerships with regional airlines like Maldivian and Pro Flight Zambia, providing access to remote destinations such as the Maldives’ islands and Zambia’s Lower Zambezi National Park. Emirates’ major partnerships with United Airlines, Air Canada, and Qantas further enhance travel options across the Americas, Australia, and New Zealand.

The carrier’s strategic partnerships allow its customers access to a total of over 375 cities in the Americas, more than 380 cities across Europe, and 500 cities throughout Asia. Its collaboration with Qantas offers unrivaled access to 85 Australian cities, while African travelers benefit from over 210 regional points connected through its five codeshare and 18 interline partnerships.

In addition to passenger services, Emirates Skywards, the airline’s loyalty program, and Emirates SkyCargo continue to work closely with its partners to provide enhanced value for customers and cargo operations. On the ground, Emirates’ Airport Services ensures a smooth transition for travelers, offering access to dedicated lounges and assistance for passengers connecting between flights.
