AirAsia Philippines Braces for Post-Holiday Passenger Surge with Seamless Travel Services

As the holiday season winds down, AirAsia Philippines is fully prepared to manage the anticipated surge in returning travelers. The airline’s team of AllStars is on standby at key airports, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience for passengers during the peak travel period.

From 16 December 2024 to 06 January 2025, AirAsia Philippines served over 400,000 passengers — significantly exceeding its forecast of 300,000. This surge highlights the renewed enthusiasm of Filipinos for travel. The airline reported smooth operations during the Christmas and New Year holidays, underscoring its commitment to quality service and reliability.

“We expect a continuous increase in passenger traffic at our check-in counters until January 10th, as many of our kababayans have extended their holiday leave to enjoy more time with their loved ones in the provinces. This is why we remain fully prepared and will continue our operational readiness after the holidays and into the upcoming lively fiesta season in key destinations like Kalibo, Cebu, and Bohol,” according to AirAsia Philippines Communications and Public Affairs Head First Officer Steve Dailisan.

January ushers in the Philippines’ fiesta season, and AirAsia is offering affordable, seamless travel to popular destinations. Travelers can also benefit from the latest Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) advisory on fuel surcharges, which maintains reasonable pricing. For domestic flights, surcharges range from PHP117 to PHP342, while international flights have a range of PHP385.70 to PHP2,867.82, depending on distance.
