Agoda Partners with TPB Philippines to Boost International Tourism

Digital travel platform Agoda has announced a strategic partnership with the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines to attract more international tourists to the country. The collaboration commenced immediately and will run until 15 December 2024, with travel periods extending through 31 March 2025. This initiative aims to position the Philippines as a top travel destination by leveraging the strengths of both organizations.

The partnership focuses on enhancing the Philippines’ global visibility through co-branded marketing campaigns and exclusive discounts for travelers. These promotional efforts will highlight both popular and lesser-known destinations across the archipelago. Campaign details will be accessible on Agoda’s website and mobile app, as well as on the Travel Philippines app, offering potential visitors a comprehensive view of the country’s cultural and natural attractions.

Omri Morgenshtern, CEO of Agoda, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, citing Agoda’s commitment to supporting the local tourism industry. “Agoda has been dedicated to supporting the tourism industry in the Philippines. We are excited to partner once again with TPB through the latest program as a significant step to leverage our digital expertise as well as our global network to showcase the myriad destinations and vibrant culture of the Philippines to a global audience,” he said.

This is not the first time Agoda has supported the Philippine tourism sector. In 2021, the platform was the first to offer quarantine packages to assist returning Filipinos during the COVID-19 pandemic. More recently, in 2023, Agoda collaborated with the World Wildlife Fund to launch the Eco Deals Program, aimed at promoting sustainable tourism. The initiative supported biodiversity efforts in Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park in Palawan and whale shark conservation programs in Donsol, Sorsogon.

TPB’s Chief Operating Officer, Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles, also highlighted the benefits of the collaboration. “TPB is thrilled to once again join forces with Agoda in our mutual goal of enhancing travel experiences for both new and returning visitors to the Philippines. This partnership allows us to utilize cutting-edge digital marketing strategies and valuable insights to promote our unique destinations and create memorable experiences for our tourists,” she said.

The latest partnership between Agoda and TPB underscores a shared commitment to showcasing the Philippines’ rich cultural heritage and diverse landscapes to a global audience. With the tourism sector gradually recovering, the collaboration is poised to play a pivotal role in driving inbound tourism and supporting local economies throughout the country.
