AirAsia Philippines is gearing up for a robust final quarter of 2023 by increasing forward bookings until December. The airline anticipates a surge in international travel as Filipinos plan their holiday getaways abroad.
As of 02 October 2023, AirAsia Philippines has identified Taipei, Incheon, Osaka, Narita, Hong Kong, and Bangkok as the top destinations for Filipino travelers. More than 300,000 seats have already been sold for flights scheduled in the next 90 days.
“AirAsia Philippines continues to herald the return of international tourism through affordable and convenient flights. In fact, we see our performance on international flights increasing to half a million seats sold before the end of December 2023 which further underscores that more and more travelers are now making the choice of flying with the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline. We hope to flourish in the APAC next year as we open more destinations following the increase in aircraft fleet,” according to First Officer Steve Dailisan, AirAsia Philippines Communications and Public Affairs Country Head.
To kick off October, AirAsia Philippines has commenced daily flights from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 to Bangkok, Hong Kong, Taipei, Seoul, Tokyo, and Macao. Flights from Manila to Guangzhou and Shenzhen continue to operate four times a week from NAIA Terminal 3, while routes to Kota Kinabalu, Kaohsiung, and Shanghai are running three times a week.
In a bid to further expand its network, AirAsia Philippines is planning to introduce new routes to Japan and China via the Clark International Airport, Mactan-Cebu International Airport, and Kalibo International Airport.
To encourage more Filipinos to pursue their international travel aspirations, AirAsia Philippines is rolling out its Winter Deals promotion. Bookings can be made from 02 to 08 October 2023, for travel between 02 October 2023 and 30 April 2024. The Winter Deals offer one-way base fares ranging from PHP880 to PHP4,590, depending on the chosen destination.
In light of the increasing fuel prices, the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) has set the fuel surcharge for the month of October at Level 6. This translates to additional fees ranging from PHP610.37 to PHP844.16 per one-way trip per passenger for APAC destinations.
AirAsia Philippines anticipates that these surcharges will have a minimal impact on airfares, as the ongoing promotional offerings such as the Winter Deals are expected to offset the effects of the surcharge. The airline remains committed to making international travel more accessible and affordable for Filipinos in the coming months.
“We invite our guests to take advantage of ongoing sales as tickets bought under existing promos will no longer be affected by any future fuel surcharge,” Dailisan added.
