AirAsia Philippines Anticipates Surge in Bookings for All Saints’ and All Souls’ Day Holiday Travel

AirAsia Philippines is bracing for a significant increase in bookings as the All Saints’ and All Souls’ Day holidays approach. Both domestic and international travelers are making early reservations to secure affordable flights and avoid the rush.

For the travel period spanning 30 October 2024 to 03 November 2024, AirAsia Philippines has already sold over 50,000 seats, with expectations of further growth in the coming days. The airline’s top destinations feature a mix of beach getaways and bustling cities, including Boracay, Cebu, Taipei, Bohol, Tacloban, Puerto Princesa, Incheon, Narita, Iloilo, and Bangkok.

AirAsia Philippines Communications and Public Affairs Head, First Officer Steve Dailisan, explained that while many Filipinos travel to commemorate their departed loved ones, an increasing number are opting to take advantage of the holiday period for leisure travel. “While the season is traditionally observed to commemorate departed loved ones, we’ve seen that some guests visit early, allowing them to use the All Saints’ and All Souls’ Day holidays for leisure travel. Based on our top 10 routes, beach destinations remain a favorite for domestic travelers, while countries that offer a mix of shopping, food, and cultural experiences continue to excite our international guests,” Dailisan said.

To help travelers maximize their holiday experience, AirAsia Philippines offered a series of travel tips:

  1. Pack Smart: The airline’s hand-carry baggage policy allows for up to 7 kg, which can include a small luggage or backpack, plus a hand or sling bag. Travelers should upgrade their check-in baggage allowance if they plan on bringing back souvenirs, with the option to upgrade to 60 kg.
  2. Plan Ahead: Flexible flight schedules are available, with red-eye flights offering cheaper fares. Travelers are advised to avoid peak travel days to minimize traffic and crowd congestion.
  3. Bundle Deals: AirAsia MOVE App users can save by booking bundled flights, hotels, and activities. With access to over 40,000 hotel partners in Asia, travelers are guaranteed a budget-friendly option.

To accommodate the expected influx of passengers, AirAsia Philippines has ramped up its manpower at NAIA Terminals 2 and 3, ensuring smooth operations and timely departures. In addition, the airline has launched a promotional campaign, the LFG AirAsia Blowout!, offering free flights, hotel vouchers, and AirAsia points for bookings made from 01 October 2024 to 29 November 2024 via the AirAsia MOVE app.
