AirAsia Philippines Enables its Customers to Manage their Travel Experience

AirAsia Philippines is committed to providing its customers with a hassle-free airport immigration process. In this regard, the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline is ready to assist its guests in any way possible. Additionally, AirAsia Philippines has provided useful tips to help travelers avoid getting offloaded during international trips.

The first tip is to arrive at the airport early. Guests are advised to be at the airport four hours before an international flight and three hours before a domestic one. Secondly, it’s essential to prepare all necessary documents, especially for international travel. This includes a passport, a round-trip itinerary, a visa (if required), and supporting documents like a certificate of employment, income tax, and a bank certificate to prove the passenger’s travel intent. Lastly, to avoid long check-in counter queues, guests can check in online via the airasia Super App.

“We understand the sentiments of travelers who are being offloaded for various reasons. We feel their frustrations especially since most of them have certainly saved money and have prepared for their dream vacation this summer. For humanitarian reasons, AirAsia will be assisting guests who will be offloaded through our customer happiness team. However, we are one with the government in making sure that Filipinos would not fall victim to human trafficking and illegal recruitment,” according to Steve Dailisan, Communications and Public Affairs Country Head of AirAsia Philippines.

In 2022, the Bureau of Immigration reported that 32,404 Filipinos were deferred departure. Shockingly, 472 of them were discovered to be victims of human trafficking or illegal recruitment, while 873 presented fraudulent documents. Even more alarming, at least ten of these deferred passengers were underaged minors attempting to work abroad. To assist guests with flight schedules, rebooking, and other travel-related issues, AirAsia has launched “Ask Bo,” a new customer concierge service to replace AVA.

In addition, the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) now offers online payment for the Philippine Travel Tax through the online travel tax services system. As a way to encourage travelers to visit their favorite international destinations this summer, AirAsia is offering one-way base fares ranging from PHP833 to PHP3,033 for bookings from 20 to 26 March 2023. These fares apply to travel dates from 20 March 2023 to 30 September 2023, to 14 ASEAN destinations, including Tokyo, Osaka, Seoul, Taipei, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Macao, Guangzhou, Zhenzhen, Bangkok, Singapore, Bali, Kota Kinabalu, and Kuala Lumpur.

Domestic Flights Transfer to NAIA Terminal 2

In a statement, the airline shared that they received an official notice from the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) on the plan to transfer all domestic flights to the NAIA Terminal 2 effective 01 July 2023.

“As an airline that is guest-obsessed, we are one with MIAA with the intention of optimizing the utilization of our airport terminals. However, we have yet to study the details of the proposed terminal reassignment to adjust our operational requirements accordingly. In the meantime,  the world’s best low-cost airline would like to reassure our guests of our relentless commitment to providing a safe, comfortable, and seamless journey,” said Dailisan.
