AirAsia Philippines Expands North Asia Routes with New Nagoya Destination

AirAsia Philippines is enhancing its presence in Japan by adding Nagoya as its third destination in the country. Nagoya, one of Japan’s largest cities, boasts a population of over two million residents, including 57,000 Filipinos.

To commemorate this milestone, AirAsia, known as the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline, is offering a special PHP888 one-way base fare to Nagoya. This promotional fare is available for bookings made through the AirAsia MOVE app and airasia.com until 11 August 2024 for travel from the inaugural flight on 29 October 2024 to 29 March 2025.

“Japan is one of the strongest regional markets for AirAsia Philippines. In fact, we’ve already flown 210,000 guests for the first half of 2024. We are confident we will double the 270,000 guests flown in 2023 with our competitive airfares, more services, better flight timings, and world-leading service,” according to AirAsia Philippines CEO Ricky Isla.

A recent study by Statista revealed that Japan is a favored holiday destination for 48.8% of Filipinos. AirAsia’s data indicates that 65% of travelers to Japan in the past six months were Filipinos aged 30-50, with most booking their flights within two months of travel.

Nagoya, located in the “Heart of Japan,” offers a blend of rich culture and thriving industries. Visitors can explore attractions such as Nagoya Castle, the Shirakawago National Heritage Site, the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, and the bustling Osu Shopping Street. Nagoya also serves as a gateway to other destinations in Japan, including the Chubu Region, which offers spectacular views of Mt. Fuji.

AirAsia Philippines is gearing up to commence flights to Nagoya starting October 29, just in time for the autumn season. This period provides an ideal mix of sunny and cooler weather, perfect for sightseeing and exploring the city and its surroundings.
