AirAsia Philippines has announced a new partnership with award-winning actor Joel Torre to bring the world-famous Bacolod Chicken Inasal to its inflight menu. This initiative, part of the airline’s ongoing efforts to promote local delicacies, will see the addition of the renowned dish from JT’s Manukan Grille, recently named the 5th Best Chicken Dish in the World by TasteAtlas.
Building on the success of the “Airline of the Stars” campaign during the pandemic, which featured collaborations with celebrities to highlight domestic destinations, AirAsia is once again focusing on local flavors to enhance the travel experience. The partnership with JT’s Manukan Grille aims to provide passengers with a taste of Filipino culinary excellence while flying.
“Following our 15th Skytrax win as the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline, AirAsia Philippines is always committed to giving our guests the best value while also supporting local entrepreneurs. We have started bringing the spirit of Filipino craftsmanship on board through partnerships with local artisans, offering guests Pinoy-made jewelry and apparel. This time, we want to elevate their in-flight experience to satisfy our guests gastronomically with JT’s Bacolod Chicken Inasal,” according to AirAsia Philippines CEO Ricky Isla.
AirAsia is known for offering exceptional value without compromising on quality. Since launching its F&B brand Santan in 2018, the airline has served over 100 million guests with Halal-certified meals that cater to diverse dietary needs. This collaboration aligns with AirAsia’s core values of affordability, cleanliness, joy, and deliciousness, promising to elevate the inflight dining experience.
“We are delighted to partner with AirAsia Philippines as this will give us a chance to showcase our Chicken Inasal to travelers from all over the world,” said JT’s Manukan and Grille CEO Joel Torre.
Starting 23 July 2024, passengers on all AirAsia Philippines flights can pre-book JT’s Bacolod Chicken Inasal through airasia.com and the AirAsia MOVE app. For only PHP200, travelers can enjoy this savory meal paired with popular Filipino beverages. In addition, AirAsia is set to unveil a series of classic Filipino dishes under its Santan brand, inviting guests to look forward to more delightful culinary offerings in the near future.
