AirAsia Philippines Prepares for Holy Week Exodus; Urges Travelers to Explore Alternative Destinations

As the countdown to Holy Week begins, AirAsia Philippines gears up to accommodate the anticipated surge in travelers embarking on pilgrimages and vacations across various provinces. With the onset of summer intensifying the exodus from metropolitan areas, the airline stands ready to facilitate safe and seamless journeys for its guests.

In preparation for the Holy Week and the ensuing summer holiday rush, AirAsia Philippines has bolstered its workforce by recruiting additional mechanics and ground staff. This strategic move aims to expedite aircraft turnaround times and ensure punctual flight schedules. Self-check-in kiosks have also been introduced at NAIA Terminals 2 and 3, providing guests with convenient alternatives for expediting departure procedures.

Assuring travelers of a stress-free experience, the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline guarantees no overbooking during peak seasons, thus securing each guest’s seat on their purchased flights. However, the airline advises the public to book their flights well in advance to avoid any inconvenience.

“We would like to assure that everyone will be able to fly safely and conveniently during the holidays as we also understand the importance of Holy Week to most of us. On top of the current manpower, we also have staff on standby who can be tapped to help during peak hours. Most of the locals from these destinations are traveling outbound during the Holy Week and the summer, which decongests most of their tourist attractions. This offers an advantage for guests coming from Metro Manila as they will be able to enjoy their vacation minus the crowd,” according to First Officer Steve Dailisan, AirAsia Head of Communications and Public Affairs.

Encouraging guests to explore lesser-known domestic destinations, AirAsia Philippines anticipates overcrowding in popular tourist spots such as Boracay, Cebu, Panglao, and Puerto Princesa during the holidays. With over 500,000 flights already booked to these destinations until May 2024, the airline suggests alternative locales like Davao, Roxas City, Iloilo, and Kalibo, which offer a diverse range of summer activities and sustainable attractions.

Emphasizing the importance of booking through official channels, AirAsia Philippines strictly cautions against transactions made via social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. Guests are reminded to utilize airasia.com and AirAsia MOVE (formerly airasia Superapp), or authorized sales partners for all flight reservations.
