AirAsia Philippines is taking a bold step in redefining the airline recruitment process by introducing a more inclusive and practical approach to hiring future cabin crew members. Breaking away from traditional norms, the airline is shifting its focus toward skills, personality, and service orientation rather than appearances.
Beginning 20 August 2025 until 29 August 2025, AirAsia will host its “Allstar Wednesday Castings” every Wednesday from 1000H to 1200H, opening doors to cabin crew aspirants in a groundbreaking new format. Unlike the typical recruitment process that often emphasizes formal wear and full makeup, applicants will now be encouraged to present themselves in simple, comfortable attire. Male candidates can wear a white t-shirt, jeans, and casual rubber shoes, while female candidates may opt for a white shirt, a denim skirt, and heels.

This innovative recruitment style places emphasis on immersing candidates in a more realistic work environment. Instead of the usual runway-type screening, applicants will experience a service- and guest-oriented approach, giving them an authentic preview of what it’s like to live the “Allstar” culture and work life in the skies.
“We are reimagining the way we do our recruitment process to focus more on the essentials — talent, attitude and skills needed to become a successful cabin crew. Awarded for the 8th consecutive time as World’s Best Low-Cost Cabin Crew by Skytrax, not only do we live and breathe the standards of safety, we make sure that the work environment is fun and inclusive. By changing the game, we also wish to take part in the purposeful journeys of cabin crew aspirants who are deserving to live the sky-high dream,” according to AirAsia Philippines Chief Executive Officer Suresh Bangah.
Applicants, referred to as “future Allstars,” are required to bring an updated CV or resumé, along with a recent non-AI-generated photo. A warm smile and adherence to the minimum height requirement proportionate to their Body Mass Index (BMI) are also part of the qualifications.
While college graduates are encouraged to apply, senior high school graduates are also welcome. Proficiency in English and Filipino — or being multilingual — is considered an advantage.
This marks the fourth open-day recruitment of AirAsia Philippines in 2025, following three successful hiring rounds earlier this year. The airline continues to build its talent pool in preparation for future staffing requirements.
