AirAsia Philippines celebrated a triumphant return to in-person events with the 7th Redstar Awards, honoring the unwavering support of its Travel Agency Partners. The ceremony, held for the first time since the pandemic, solidified the critical role travel agencies played in keeping the airline aloft during challenging times.
“AirAsia Philippines is winning because of you, our travel agency partners, for keeping the travel and tourism industry alive. We are winning because people believe in what we do here in AirAsia — providing the best service and travel experience to millions of our guests. As of May 2024, AirAsia is now flying a total of 12 domestic and 13 international destinations. Because of your (Travel Agency Partners) contribution, AirAsia Philippines continues to be the leading airline for leisure destinations such as Thailand, Boracay, Tagbilaran, Tacloban, Panglao, and Cebu,” according to AirAsia Philippines CEO Ricky Isla as he expressed his heartfelt gratitude.
AirAsia boasts over 1,000 Travel Agency Partners across the Philippines, each playing a vital role in the airline’s success. Isla highlighted that nearly half (50%) of AirAsia’s flight and ancillary revenue in 2023 stemmed from Travel Agency Partner sales, demonstrating their significant impact.
“Cheers to AirAsia Philippines, a true champion of affordable travel! May your wings continue to spread and bring dynamism to the Philippine travel industry,” said Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA) President Marigel Tankiang Manotok as she thanked AirAsia for the recognition and committed the support of its members to the airline.
With the second half of 2024 approaching, AirAsia Philippines sets its sights on reopening the Clark Hub, introducing exciting new domestic and international routes. Isla expressed his confidence in the continued partnership, emphasizing the crucial role travel agencies will play in promoting Clark as a major aviation hub within the Philippines.
This recognition by AirAsia Philippines strengthens the airline’s bond with its Travel Agency Partners, paving the way for a vibrant future in Philippine travel.
