AirAsia Philippines goes beyond air travel to save lives through a bloodletting drive held at their RedPoint headquarters in Pasay City. This initiative, conducted in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) and the Philippine Air Force (PAF), saw over 200 AirAsia employees and PAF personnel participating in response to the urgent need for blood reserves.
“Our core value of making a difference goes beyond the skies. We’re not just transporting passengers, we’re transporting hope,” stated AirAsia Philippines CEO Ricky Isla.
This bloodletting drive marks a significant collaboration under AirAsia’s AlwaysReady: Anytime, Anywhere CSR program, showcasing their dedication to community service and national pride. Since 2015, AirAsia has partnered with the PRC for over 10 blood donation drives, and their partnership with the PAF, established in 2019, has yielded impressive results.
“We thank AirAsia and the Philippine Air Force for their commitment to supporting our mission of saving lives. Through your annual blood donation drives, you’ve proven that AirAsia goes beyond bringing families together,” said Philippine Red Cross Secretary General Dr. Gwen Pang.
This “Donate Blood, Save Lives” activity aims to increase the Red Cross’ blood bank reserves and encourage more blood donations, which have seen a decline since 2020. Donating blood not only benefits recipients but also offers health advantages to donors.
