All Nippon Airways (ANA), recognized as Japan’s premier 5-Star airline for 11 consecutive years, is set to launch eco-friendly amenity pouches for its First and Business Class cabins on international flights, commencing in early January 2024.
Crafted in collaboration with ETTINGER, a distinguished brand with a royal warrant from the Prince of Wales of the United Kingdom since 1934, the innovative pouches symbolize ANA’s dedication to environmental responsibility. Comprising natural cotton canvas and recycled materials, the ETTINGER amenity pouch marks a pioneering move, making ANA the first airline globally to feature this exclusive offering.
In the opulent First Class cabins, passengers will be treated to the prestigious “SENSAI” cosmetics, sourced from a recycling-oriented farm with a commitment to avoiding pesticides and chemical fertilizers. Meanwhile, Business Class travelers will receive “AVEDA” amenities, a cruelty-free brand that aligns with environmentally conscious policy management and incorporates materials derived from natural resources. Both classes will also receive an ANA original reusable bag made from recycled materials.

The move towards sustainable travel aligns with ANA Group’s medium-term environmental targets for FY2030 under ESG management. The airline has been actively implementing reduce, reuse, and recycle initiatives, including the recent transition to paper containers and straws, alongside the introduction of wooden cutlery and muddlers to replace plastic items. This concerted effort has resulted in a remarkable 40% reduction (equivalent to 475 tons per year) in disposable plastic usage onboard.
In its ongoing commitment to sustainability, ANA is eliminating plastic from amenity kit packaging, opting for paper bands starting with the ETTINGER amenity pouches. This strategic shift is anticipated to curtail disposable plastic usage by approximately 1.7 tons annually.
As part of the ANA Future Promise, the airline remains steadfast in providing customer-centric services while actively contributing to the achievement of sustainable development goals through the creation of eco-friendly services and products.
