AvGeek Philippines is reiterating its position against content plagiarism and unethical use of information following the recent resurfacing of a Facebook page previously flagged by our platform for copying our original work without permission.
On 02 September 2022, AvGeek Philippines publicly called out a Facebook page named AirTraveller PH for blatantly copying and pasting one of our original articles in its entirety. The act of plagiarism extended beyond the text itself and included the unauthorized use of our article’s feature image, leaving no ambiguity that the content was lifted directly from our platform and reposted as someone else’s work. At the time, we raised the issue to protect our intellectual property and to make it clear that AvGeek Philippines does not tolerate the misappropriation of original content.
Recently, the same post resurfaced in our Facebook timeline, prompting us to revisit the status of the page involved. Upon checking its page history, we discovered that AirTraveller PH is now operating under the name “Mond Ortiz.” Records show that the Facebook page was officially renamed on 12 June 2023. While page renaming is a standard feature on the platform, this development is relevant given the unresolved concerns surrounding the earlier plagiarism incident.

For AvGeek Philippines, this issue goes beyond a single copied article. It touches on a more serious and troubling pattern: the betrayal of trust within aviation and travel circles. As an aviation-focused platform, we regularly engage in private discussions with fellow enthusiasts, industry stakeholders, and members of the community. These exchanges often involve shared insights, observations, and developing ideas that are not meant for public release, much less to be claimed as original content by others.
When information gathered through private conversations or closed discussions is later turned into public-facing content — presented as if it were independently conceived — it erodes trust and undermines collaboration. Such actions discourage open dialogue and damage relationships that rely on mutual respect and professional integrity. Content creation, especially in specialized fields like aviation, should be grounded in transparency, proper attribution, and ethical conduct.
AvGeek Philippines has always taken pride in producing original, well-researched, and responsibly sourced content. Our work is the result of firsthand experiences, credible references, and collaboration built on trust. We welcome healthy competition and diverse voices in the aviation space, but we firmly reject practices that involve copying, misrepresentation, or exploitation of privately shared information.
We are bringing this matter up again not to inflame controversy, but to set the record straight and reaffirm our values. Names and branding may change over time, but accountability and ethical standards should remain constant. AvGeek Philippines will continue to stand by its commitment to integrity, and we urge content creators and readers alike to support responsible journalism and respectful engagement within the aviation community.
