Bloomberg: Emirates Group May Cut 30,000 Jobs

In a piece of breaking news by Bloomberg, the Emirates Group is planning to cut some 30,000 jobs in an effort to reduce cost amid the Coronavirus outbreak. According to the news report, Emirates has a headcount of 105,000 in its workforce as of March 2020.

According to the same report, the airline is seriously considering to speed up the planned retirement of its Airbus A380 fleet.

In addition to the Bloomberg report, based on the account of some sources within the airline, the distribution of pink slips started this weekend to some employees of DNATA — the ground handling, cargo, travel, and flight catering services arm of the Emirates Group.
