CAAP Earns ISO 9001:2015 Certification for Flight Standards Inspectorate Service

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has achieved a significant milestone with its Flight Standards Inspectorate Service (FSIS) earning the prestigious ISO 9001:2015 certification. This accomplishment highlights CAAP’s dedication to meeting international quality management standards and enhancing the nation’s aviation sector.

Securing this certification comes after four previous attempts in prior years, showcasing CAAP’s persistence and determination to improve operational efficiency and safety standards. The ISO 9001:2015 certification is a globally recognized benchmark for quality management systems, underscoring the FSIS’s commitment to ensuring passenger safety, operational excellence, and bolstering public confidence in Philippine aviation.

CAAP Director General Captain Manuel Antonio Tamayo expressed his appreciation for the hard work and perseverance of the FSIS team, led by Acting Assistant Director General II Captain Florendo Jose Aquino. “This certification is a testament to CAAP’s commitment to the Filipino public and the aviation industry. It highlights our dedication to delivering the highest standards of service and safety, enhancing trust and confidence in our operations both locally and internationally,” according to Capt. Tamayo.

The FSIS plays a crucial role within CAAP, responsible for certifying commercial and general aviation operators, approved training organizations, and maintenance organizations. The division also oversees the issuance of airmen licenses, harmonizes aviation regulations, and ensures compliance with national and international standards.

This milestone not only elevates CAAP’s standing in the global aviation community but also sets a benchmark for other departments within the agency to pursue similar achievements. As CAAP continues aligning its operations with international best practices, it reaffirms its commitment to fostering a safer and more efficient aviation industry in the Philippines.
