Cathay Pacific Airways celebrates a triumphant return to the top ranks of the global airline industry. The carrier secured the prestigious title of World’s Best Economy Class Airline at the 2024 Skytrax World Airline Awards, alongside a significant climb to the coveted fifth position for World’s Best Airline. This impressive achievement marks a three-place jump from last year’s rankings.
Cathay Pacific’s success extends beyond Skytrax recognition. The airline was also commended for its hygiene standards, receiving the World’s Cleanest Airline distinction. This string of accolades follows their recent performance in AirlineRatings’ rankings, where they were named the third-best premium airline globally, a remarkable six-place improvement compared to 2023.

This dedication to excellence manifests in Cathay Pacific’s ongoing investment in product and service innovations. The airline promises a sequence of exciting new seat designs rolled out over the next three years. Passengers can look forward to a revolutionary Business Class experience dubbed the “Aria Suite,” alongside a revamped Premium Economy and a refreshed Economy Class on their Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, all slated for launch later in 2024.
The future holds even more exciting developments. In 2025, Cathay Pacific plans to unveil a groundbreaking First Class experience on their brand-new Boeing B777-9 aircraft. The year 2026 will witness a complete cabin overhaul on their Airbus A330 fleet, featuring a brand-new flat-bed Business Class product. These advancements will be supplemented by continuous refinements to Cathay Pacific’s lounges, dining options, inflight entertainment systems, digital experiences, and more.
To further elevate the passenger journey, Cathay Pacific will soon introduce complimentary inflight Wi-Fi for Business Class customers and Diamond members. In addition, starting this July 2024, the airline will enhance its signature inflight service by increasing cabin crew presence on select flights.
