Cebu Pacific Bolsters Fleet with 5th Fuel-Efficient Aircraft in 2024, Prioritizing Sustainability and Network Expansion

Cebu Pacific continues its commitment to operational resilience and environmental sustainability with the arrival of its fifth new aircraft in 2024. The fuel-efficient Airbus A320neo (RP-C4267 | MSN-09592) landed at Ninoy Aquino International Airport on 21 May 2024, marking another step towards Cebu Pacific’s fleet modernization goals.

“Adding another NEO aircraft to our fleet strengthens our ability to serve our passengers reliably while reducing our environmental impact. We’re proud to take a proactive stance on sustainability while meeting the growing demand for air travel,” according to Alex Reyes, CEB Chief Strategy Officer.

This latest addition reinforces Cebu Pacific’s position as one of the airlines with the youngest fleets globally. Their diversified fleet currently includes eight Airbus 330s, 39 Airbus 320s, 21 Airbus 321s, and 14 ATR turboprop aircraft. This diverse mix allows Cebu Pacific to boast the most extensive network coverage in the Philippines, reaching 35 domestic destinations and 24 international destinations across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.

The Airbus A320neo represents the latest generation of single-aisle aircraft, boasting a significant environmental advantage. Compared to its predecessors, the A320neo burns 15% less fuel per flight, resulting in a direct reduction of carbon emissions. This aligns with Cebu Pacific’s long-term goal of transitioning to an all-NEO fleet by 2028.

Cebu Pacific’s dedication to fleet modernization with fuel-efficient aircraft demonstrates its commitment to environmental responsibility and continued growth within the aviation industry. The addition of the fifth A320neo in 2024 strengthens its position as a leader in providing Filipinos with affordable, reliable, and sustainable air travel options.
