Cebu Pacific Celebrates National Migrants’ Day with Free Flights for OFWs

The Philippines’ leading carrier Cebu Pacific marked National Migrants’ Day by honoring the invaluable contributions of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) through a special giveaway of free international flights.

In a gesture of appreciation and commitment to Filipino migrant workers, Cebu Pacific raffled off roundtrip international tickets to both aspiring and current OFWs. The raffle, which was held during the National Migrants’ Day celebration organized by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), saw six fortunate OFWs winning tickets to any of the airline’s international destinations.

Candice Iyog, Cebu Pacific Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer, and Gemma Sotto, Chairperson of United Filipino Global, award free flights to six aspiring and current overseas workers.

The celebrations commenced on 02 June 2024 in Tacloban, where Cebu Pacific, alongside select government agencies and United Filipino Global (UFG), hosted an overseas job fair. The event aimed to meet the employment needs of Filipinos in various sectors such as healthcare, hospitality, accounting, and skilled trades. More than 5,000 job opportunities were made available in countries including Australia, Japan, Malaysia, the Middle East, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Cebu Pacific continues to prioritize affordable and accessible air travel for every Juan, while also reaffirming its commitment to the welfare and empowerment of the Filipino workforce.
