Cebu Pacific Leads Mactan Airport Traffic with 5.6 Million Passengers in 2024

Cebu Pacific (CEB) recorded a significant milestone in 2024 by flying over 5.6 million passengers through Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA | CEB | RPVM). This figure accounted for nearly 50% of the airport’s total passenger traffic, which reached 11.3 million for the year.

The surge in Cebu Pacific’s operations was fueled by robust travel demand and an aggressive network expansion. The airline’s flights to and from Cebu increased by 34.7%, rising from 3,580 in January 2024 to 4,824 in January 2025. Meanwhile, seat capacity saw an even more substantial jump of 51.6%, growing from nearly 473,000 seats to over 717,000.

The airline’s expansion aligns with its commitment to making air travel more accessible, particularly for passengers in the Central Visayas region. By offering more flights and greater connectivity, the airline continues to support tourism, business, and economic development in the Philippines and beyond.

“Cebu Pacific’s continued growth in Cebu reflects the strong demand for affordable and accessible air travel in Central Visayas. By increasing our flights and seat capacity, we are not only connecting more passengers but also supporting tourism, trade, and economic opportunities across the region,” according to Xander Lao, President and Chief Commercial Officer of Cebu Pacific.

At present, Cebu Pacific operates direct flights from Mactan-Cebu International Airport to 24 domestic and 06 international destinations. The airline is known for its frequent seat sales and special promotions, further encouraging travelers to explore new destinations.

With a network spanning 37 domestic and 26 international destinations across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East, Cebu Pacific continues to strengthen its position as a key player in the country’s aviation industry, providing affordable and convenient travel for every Juan.
