Cebu Pacific Logs 200 Millionth Passenger Milestone

As the Philippine government continues to ease travel restrictions during this ongoing pandemic, the country’s leading airline, Cebu Pacific (CEB) expects to restore 100% of its pre-pandemic domestic capacity by April 2022 after ramping up its network on its 26th year anniversary this month.

The airline took note of a 200% increase in its average daily flights for both domestic and international routes — from around 100 flights per day in 2020 to about 300 flights now. Key domestic destinations like Boracay and Cebu have already exceeded their 2019 flight frequencies.

Earlier today, I had the privilege of being on board Cebu Pacific‘s latest brand new aircraft — RP-C3901, an Airbus A330-941 (A330neo) — operating as flight 5J575 from Manila to Cebu where the airline will celebrate flying its 200 millionth passenger.

Upon reaching the flight’s cruising altitude of 33,000, the airline’s President and CEO Lance Gokongwei was introduced to reveal the name of the lucky 200 millionth passenger onboard the aircraft.

And the lucky Cebu Pacific 200 millionth passenger was Salbert Garces of Cebu.

“We are excited to safely fly everyJuan to their destinations so they could reunite with their families and loved ones, pursue their business interests, or revisit tourist destinations. It is encouraging to see and feel travel confidence returning. We thank our passengers for their continued trust, and we will endeavor to live true to our promise of providing safe, affordable, and accessible air travel for every Juan,” according to Lance Gokongwei, President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Cebu Pacific.

The celebration of this CEB milestone continued upon arrival at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA), where Garces was awarded with unlimited domestic flights for one (01) whole year.
