Cebu Pacific Takes Delivery of the Philippines’ Very First Airbus A330neo

A new page in Philippine aviation history has been written earlier today when local airline Cebu Pacific Air took delivery of the country’s very first Airbus A330neo at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA; MNL).

The aircraft with Philippine registry RP-C3900 (Airbus A330-941; MSN 2001) landed at runway 06 of the NAIA at around 0820H and proceeded to the NAIA Terminal 3 Ramp.

Toulouse, France-based planespotter Eurospot posted this awesome video of the plane as it climbs out of the Airbus facility Saturday, 27 November 2021 at around 1952H (MNL time) and made a “goodbye wave” to the people at the factory’s airport:

This aircraft delivery is the first out of the sixteen (16) Airbus A330neo ordered by Cebu Pacific during the 2019 Paris Air Show. The term “neo” in this aircraft’s model stands for “new engine option” and the airliner is designed to improve fuel efficiency, improve passenger comfort, and carry more passengers further with more than 1,400 units currently on order.

Cebu Pacific signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Airbus and it was announced at the 2019 Paris Air Show. The deal is comprised of 16 A330neo, 10 A321XLR, and 5 A320neo aircraft. We can’t wait to see this bird being utilized by Cebu Pacific for its maiden commercial voyage.
