Highlights Include E2 Family, C-390 Millennium, and Super Tucano
Embraer, the world’s third-largest aircraft manufacturer, is set to make a significant impact at the inaugural Bali Airshow, held from 18 to 21 September 2024 at Ngurah Rai International Airport. The Brazilian aerospace giant will present an array of its most innovative aircraft from its commercial aviation, defense, and executive jet portfolios. Visitors can explore scale models of its latest advancements, including the E2 family of small narrowbody jets and the multi-mission military airlift, the C-390 Millennium, at Embraer’s booth B11 in Hall B.
Indonesia already hosts a variety of Embraer aircraft, particularly within the Indonesian Air Force, which operates a fleet of A-29 Super Tucano light attack planes. In the executive aviation space, a growing number of Embraer business jets operate in the region, with local maintenance provided by PT Wira Jasa Angkasa, Embraer’s authorized service center in Indonesia.
The E2 family, consisting of the E190-E2 and E195-E2 models, stands out for its fuel efficiency and quiet operation. Seating between 114 and 146 passengers, these jets offer a flying endurance of over six hours, enabling airlines to expand connectivity across distant city pairs. Notably, Scoot, a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, will use the Embraer E190-E2 to begin operations between Singapore and Indonesia’s Kertajati International Airport starting 28 September 2024.
Embraer’s C-390 Millennium will also be a focal point at the event. Known for its versatility, the C-390 can transport up to 26 tons of cargo, perform medical evacuations, and operate in challenging environments, including unpaved runways. The KC-390 variant is equipped for air-to-air refueling and is capable of functioning as both a tanker and a receiver. This aircraft has proven its reliability with the Brazilian and Portuguese air forces, accumulating over 14,000 flight hours with mission completion rates exceeding 99%.
Since its founding in 1969, Embraer has delivered more than 9,000 aircraft globally, solidifying its position as a leader in commercial jets with up to 150 seats. Its participation in the Bali Airshow highlights the company’s dedication to the Indonesian market and the wider Asia-Pacific region, where its aircraft continue to serve vital roles across commercial, executive, and defense sectors.
