EXCLUSIVE: Daher Industrial Services Explores Expansion into the Philippines

Daher, a global leader in aerospace manufacturing, logistics, and industrial services, is actively exploring expansion opportunities in the Philippines. During an industry luncheon at Clark Marriott Hotel last 20 March 2025, Daher Industrial Services executives discussed their plans with key aviation stakeholders from both the government and private sectors, emphasizing the company’s commitment to fostering business interdependence and strengthening the aviation ecosystem. The event provided a platform for industry leaders to explore potential collaborations and highlight the strategic advantages of investing in the Philippines.

Cédric Eloy, SVP of DAHER Industrial Services

Cédric Eloy, SVP of DAHER Industrial Services discussed the importance of expanding aviation maintenance and training capabilities in the country. He emphasized the need for specialized competencies in composite repair and non-destructive testing (NDT) services. The company envisions a step-by-step approach to establishing these capabilities, beginning with small-scale composite repair operations and gradually expanding its service offerings.

“We don’t need a massive investment to start. A couple of hundred square meters, the right equipment, and skilled personnel will be enough to launch our initial operations. The timeline depends on how quickly we can build a strong business case and secure our first customers. By June, we aim to finalize our investment decision,” said Eloy.

Industry leaders welcomed Daher’s interest in the country, with many expressing optimism about the potential benefits of such an investment. The Clark Freeport Zone emerged as a preferred location for Daher’s potential investment. Daher officers present at the event highlighted Clark’s strategic position as an ideal hub for aerospace businesses, citing its existing infrastructure and the presence of major players. The Aerospace Industries Association of the Philippines (AIAP) strongly endorsed Clark as a prime location for Daher’s proposed maintenance and training center.

Captain Jim Sydiongco, DOTR Undersecretary for Aviation and Airports

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) also expressed its support for partnerships between the government and private sector to modernize and expand the aviation industry. Undersecretary for Aviation and Airports Captain Jim Sydiongco reiterated the Philippine government’s commitment to enhancing air transport services.

“The government’s push for aviation development aligns with Daher’s potential expansion. We welcome international private companies that bring expertise and innovation to our aviation sector. Our goal is to ensure fast, efficient, and hassle-free travel for passengers while fostering economic growth,” said Captain Sydiongco. Daher’s expansion aligns with the Philippine government’s broader strategy of leveraging public-private partnerships (PPP) to enhance airport operations and aviation services.

Clark is positioning itself as a premier hub for aviation growth and investment, offering a well-integrated ecosystem that brings together industry players, academic institutions, and government agencies.

Atty. Agnes Devanadera, President and CEO of Clark Development Corporation (CDC)

“Clark has the convergence for you because the programs that we have are exactly programs that can help you improve or strengthen your own business models. The ecosystem we have here in Clark is a convergence of many factors: the industry, the academe, and the national government. It’s a whole-of-government approach focused on the needs of the aviation sector,” said Atty. Agnes Devanadera, President and CEO of Clark Development Corporation (CDC).

Next Steps for Daher in the Philippines

As Daher continues to explore investment opportunities, discussions with potential partners and government agencies are expected to accelerate. The company plans to finalize its business case by mid-year, with the goal of making a firm investment decision by June 2025. Stakeholders remain optimistic about the positive impact of Daher’s potential entry into the Philippine market.

Jeffrey Espiritu, General Manager of Daher Industrial Services

“There is a real need for advanced MRO services and training programs in the country. Daher’s expertise can help fill that gap, creating new business opportunities and boosting the local aviation industry,” according to Jeffrey Espiritu, General Manager of Daher Industrial Services.

With growing interest from global aerospace firms and strong government support for aviation development, the Philippines is positioning itself as a major player in the regional aviation industry. Daher’s potential expansion could mark a significant milestone in the country’s journey toward becoming a leading aviation hub in Asia.
