FedEx Expands International Connect Plus Service to the Philippines, Empowering Local E-Tailers

FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. and a global leader in express transportation, has introduced its FedEx® International Connect Plus (FICP) service in the Philippines. This expansion provides Filipino e-commerce businesses with a fast, reliable, and cost-effective international shipping solution, facilitating trade with key markets in the United States and Europe.

The Philippines joins other Asia-Pacific markets such as China, Hong Kong SAR, and Japan in benefiting from FICP, a day-definite e-commerce shipping service. With this rollout, Philippine-based online retailers can now offer their customers international shipping with delivery between two to three business days at competitive rates.

Driving Cross-Border E-Commerce Growth

The expansion of FICP aligns with FedEx’s commitment to strengthening cross-border e-commerce. The Philippine e-commerce industry is projected to reach PHP969 billion by 2026, while e-commerce sales across Asia are expected to hit US$13.2 trillion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 17.6%. FedEx aims to support SMEs and entrepreneurs by providing efficient logistics solutions to help them scale in the global market.

FICP offers cost-effective international shipping, allowing businesses to expand globally without incurring high logistical costs. Customers can pick up their packages from designated FedEx locations and modify delivery dates or addresses, providing them with greater flexibility and convenience. The service also integrates seamlessly with e-commerce platforms, offering merchants automated, paperless shipping solutions for a smoother fulfillment process.

To enhance the overall shipping experience, FedEx provides real-time tracking and delivery notifications, ensuring visibility throughout the delivery journey. The service also includes Picture Proof of Delivery (PPOD), giving recipients visual confirmation when their package has arrived, even if they are not home to receive it.

FedEx’s Commitment to the Philippine E-Commerce Sector

“E-commerce is reshaping global trade, and FedEx® International Connect Plus enables local SMEs to expand their reach with higher efficiency. This service reinforces our commitment to delivering innovative, cost-effective shipping solutions that help Philippine businesses grow and compete in international markets while delivering an enhanced experience to their customers,” according to Maribeth Espinosa, Managing Director of FedEx Philippines.

FICP is supported by FedEx’s expertise in international shipping and customs clearance, ensuring smooth cross-border transactions. The service also integrates with FedEx Delivery Manager® International, allowing customers to manage deliveries conveniently.
