FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. and one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, has recently introduced a comprehensive logistics solution for dangerous goods to cater to local businesses in Cebu. This one-stop shop enables customers to conveniently ship over 2,200 types of dangerous goods, ranging from class 1 to 9, such as paints, perfumes, bleaches, and electronic devices with lithium batteries, to international markets.
Dangerous Goods (DG’s) are items or substances that can potentially pose risks to health, safety, or the environment if mishandled. Leveraging FedEx’s expertise in this area, the company ensures the safe packing, marking, labeling, and documentation of these goods. Trained personnel handles the items meticulously, ensuring they are shipped securely and arrive at their intended destination without any incidents.
In line with its commitment to supporting the growth of local businesses, FedEx continues to introduce innovative service offerings that cater to the diverse needs of Philippine enterprises, regardless of their size. Some of these innovations include Application Programming Interface (API) solutions, which allow e-tailers to seamlessly integrate FedEx shipping services into their online stores. Customers now have access to FedEx Delivery Manager, which provides delivery notifications and personalized options through WhatsApp. In addition, with the recent relaunch of International Economy services, businesses in the Philippines can now benefit from day-defined transit times for less time-sensitive shipments, providing them with greater flexibility and connectivity to 170 markets worldwide.
“This suite of services gives businesses enhanced capabilities to expand their portfolio and meet the growing demands of their customers. We hope to open up more possibilities for local businesses to tap into global trade opportunities, as well as contribute towards Cebu’s continuous growth, as one of the country’s key economic and tourism hotspots,” according to Maribeth Espinosa, Managing Director, FedEx Express Philippines.
