The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Area Center 11 recently unveiled new passenger facilities at the General Santos International Airport (GenSan | GES | RPMR). These facilities aim to improve the travel experience for families with young children and nursing mothers.
The new amenities include a Lactation Area and a Children’s Play Area. The Lactation Area provides three private cubicles for mothers who need to breastfeed their babies. These cubicles offer a clean, comfortable, and quiet space for mothers to nurse their children without having to worry about privacy.
The Children’s Play Area, on the other hand, can accommodate up to 15 children at a time. This dedicated space provides a safe and fun environment for young travelers to play and unwind while waiting for their flights.
Both facilities are air-conditioned and open to the public. Designated personnel are also available to assist passengers in using these amenities. The Lactation Area and Children’s Play Area are conveniently located on the second floor of the Passenger Terminal building.
“CAAP-GSIA is not only enhancing its infrastructure but also reaffirms its commitment as a community-oriented hub, continuously evolving to better serve its passengers. This event marks a significant milestone in the airport’s history and sets a benchmark for future enhancements aimed at fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone,” said General Santos Airport Manager Joel Gavina.
The opening of these new facilities is a significant step forward for GenSan Airport. These amenities will undoubtedly improve the travel experience for families and nursing mothers, making the airport a more passenger-friendly place.
