Increase in Daily Entry Quota at the NAIA Planned

Following the re-scheduling and slotting of commercial passenger flights arriving at the country’s premier gateway — the NAIA (Ninoy Aquino International Airport), the National Task Force Against COVID-19 (NTF) plans of increasing the daily arrival quota to 1,000 pax per day (from 400).

“We want to de-clog Metro Manila within two weeks. With that, ang mangyayari sa atin, unti-unti po nating iaangat ang ating entry quota to more or less 1,000 a day,” according to NTF Chief Implementer Secretary Carlito Galvez, Jr. during the #LagingHandaPH Public Briefing Friday afternoon.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) issued a NOTAM advising all inbound international charter and commercial flights landing at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) will have assigned days effective Monday, 11 May 2020 until Wednesday, 10 June 2020.

For all inbound international commercial flights (scheduled), they will only be allowed every Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays provided that they secure approval from CAAP at least forty-eight (48) hours before the scheduled departure from the airport of origin. The guidelines were issued so that necessary slotting and rescheduling of flights will be in accordance with the 400 passengers per day capacity of the NAIA.

Exceptions to the NOTAM will be made to all en route flights experiencing an emergency, ferry flights, cargo flights, air ambulance, and medical supplies flights, government/military flights, weather mitigation flights, maintenance flights, and outbound ferry flights/cargo flights with passengers, as authorized.
