Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna (Mapúa MCL) has officially introduced a two-year Associate Degree in Aircraft Maintenance Technology (AMT) for the academic year 2024-2025, aiming to equip aspiring aviation professionals with the necessary skills and qualifications to thrive in the industry.
The AMT program offers a well-rounded curriculum that integrates both theoretical knowledge and hands-on aviation maintenance training. Certified by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), the program enables graduates to qualify for an Aircraft Maintenance License in the country, providing them with a gateway to both local and international career opportunities.

Aircraft maintenance is a highly competitive field with significant earning potential, particularly abroad. According to the global job platform Indeed, aircraft maintenance technicians in the United States earn an average annual salary of US$62,795, making it a lucrative career path for skilled professionals.
Students enrolled in Mapúa MCL’s AMT program will receive in-depth training on key aircraft components and systems, including turbine and piston engines, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, propellers, airframes, warning systems, and rigging. The program focuses on ensuring aircraft airworthiness and enhancing overall flight safety.

Instruction is led by highly experienced faculty members with extensive industry backgrounds. The curriculum is designed to meet CAAP regulations, requiring students to complete 1,900 hours of training — including 400 hours of general education, 750 hours on airframe systems, and 750 hours on powerplant mechanics. The hands-on approach ensures that students gain practical expertise in conducting aircraft inspections, repairs, and maintenance.
Further enhancing the program’s learning experience, Mapúa MCL is set to unveil the Da Vinci Building, a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to aviation training. The facility will serve as a hub for technical workshops, maintenance simulations, and lecture sessions tailored to the needs of AMT students.
