The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) marked its 43rd anniversary with a significant transformation, celebrating its first year as a regulatory body following the transfer of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) operations to the New NAIA Infra Corporation (NNIC).
The shift, which took effect on 14 September 2024, is a key step in modernizing and enhancing passenger experience while ensuring long-term sustainability. Under the new structure, MIAA now focuses on regulatory oversight, prioritizing safety, efficiency, and innovation in airport management.
During the flag-raising ceremony at the MIAA Administration Building in Pasay City this week, MIAA General Manager Eric Jose Ines expressed gratitude to employees for their dedication during the transition. To commemorate the milestone, MIAA organized various activities, including a blood donation drive, a Zumba wellness session for employees, a weeklong food bazaar, and a Holy Mass.
A highlight of the celebration was the unveiling of MIAA’s new brand identity, featuring a redesigned logo and a revised mission and vision statement that reflect its evolving role. However, based on AvGeekPH’s post Friday night, it appears that the public reception of the new logo has been largely unfavorable, with many social media users criticizing its design.

Based on our social media post on Friday night, initial public reactions to MIAA’s new logo appear to be predominantly negative. Many commenters expressed disappointment over the design, with some describing it as lacking creativity and not reflective of the airport authority’s vision. The logo has sparked discussions across social media, with users calling for a more thoughtful and modern representation of MIAA’s renewed identity.
