The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has ushered in a new cohort of aviation professionals, announcing that 595 out of 926 examinees successfully passed the demanding Aeronautical Engineers Computer-Based Licensure Examination given this December 2025. This marks an overall national passing rate of 64.25%.
The exams, administered by the Board of Aeronautical Engineering — composed of Chairman Engr. Ernesto B. Ferreras, Jr., and Member Engr. Redentor C. Malia — were conducted across key testing centers in Metro Manila, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Legazpi, Lucena, Pampanga, and Rosales (Region 1). The results were released by the PRC immediately after the last day of the examination.
The Crucial Role of Aeronautical Engineers in National Development
Aeronautical engineers are the unsung heroes of the aviation industry, a sector critical to the Philippines’ connectivity, defense, and economic growth. Their expertise is fundamental to ensuring airworthiness, safety, and efficiency in both civil and military flight operations.
These specialized professionals are responsible for the entire lifecycle of an aircraft, from design and development — incorporating complex principles of aerodynamics, propulsion, and materials — to manufacturing oversight, maintenance, and modification. In a country with a rapidly expanding air travel market, the demand for licensed Aeronautical Engineers is paramount. They play a vital role in upholding international aviation standards, driving innovation in aerospace technology, and contributing to the country’s capability for research and development in an increasingly globalized industry. Their licensure is a testament to their competency in safeguarding the flying public and the nation’s air assets.
