PAF Took Delivery of 5 Brand New S-70i Black Hawk Helicopters from Poland

In a series of social media posts by the Official Facebook Page of Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Manila, it can now be confirmed that the Philippine Air Force (PAF) took delivery of five (05) brand new S-70i Black Hawk helicopters manufactured by the Polish Aviation Works-Mielec (PZL-Mielec).

A Russian-made Antonov AN124 made the delivery of the five (05) helicopters possible. The aircraft landed in Clark Airfield in Pampanga on the morning of 09 November 2020 according to news reports.

“The purchase of 16 S-70i combat-utility helicopters manufactured by the Polish Aviation Works-Mielec (PZL-Mielec) is an excellent example of cooperation between our two countries,” according to Jarosław Szczepankiewicz, CDA of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Manila.

It may be recalled that the Philippine Air Force (PAF) purchased a total of sixteen (16) Black Hawks as part of the PAF Combat Utility Helicopter (Phase 3) Acquisition Project of the Horizon 2 phase priority project (under the RAFPMP – Revised Armed Forces of the Philippines Modernization Program).
