A special flight has been arranged by Philippine Airlines (PAL) between Cebu and Laoag to allow tourists from Cebu to travel to the northern city and enjoy a weekend of art, music, and culture. Onboard the 86-seater Dash 8-400NG with tail number RP-C5911 were art and music enthusiasts, leisure travelers, and various social media influencers. The collaboration between the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte and PAL made this special Cebu-Laoag-Cebu flight possible. It demonstrates the airline’s commitment to serving as an air bridge for promoting regional connectivity and boosting local tourism, including the art scene.
The special flight had a high passenger load of 90%, and PAL President and Chief Operating Officer Capt. Stanley K. Ng led the send-off. He expressed his support for promoting domestic travel to the regional centers of the Philippines. He said, “Local communities are the true frontlines of the Philippine economy, and this is true for both Cebu and Ilocos.”
The City of Laoag is currently celebrating the “Himala Sa Buhangin Art and Music Festival” over the weekend, providing everyone with the opportunity to experience the best of Filipino talent, artistry, and Ilokano hospitality.
