Philippine Airlines (PAL) is bolstering its operations for the holiday season, adding more flights to popular domestic and international destinations. The move aims to accommodate the surge in demand and provide travelers with increased flexibility during the peak travel period.
PAL President and Chief Operating Officer Capt. Stanley K. Ng highlighted the airline’s commitment to making holiday travel more accessible. “With the Christmas and New Year holidays just round the corner, we continue to build up our network of flights, adding new routes and beefing up other routes with more frequencies, even as we plan for new connections in 2025. Our goal is to help people reunite with their loved ones, and we’re committed to expand our services to meet the needs of our customers and make holiday travel as convenient as possible,” Capt. Ng said.
To kick off its holiday expansion, PAL introduced a thrice-weekly Clark-Siargao route on 03 December 2024 and relaunched the Cebu-Osaka Kansai route on 22 December 2024. Seasonal flights have also been added to cater to the growing demand for travel to and from Korea. These include Cebu-Seoul Incheon flights from 21 December 2024 to 04 March 2025, as well as Clark-Seoul and Kalibo-Seoul services from 02 January 2025 to 04 March 2024.
PAL is enhancing its long-haul offerings by adding an extra weekly flight from Melbourne until January 12, increasing Brisbane services to daily flights, and launching a new Seattle route.
From the domestic side, the airline is mounting 74 additional round-trip flights from 15 December 2024 to 12 January 2025 on key routes such as Manila to Davao, Bacolod, Iloilo, Tacloban, Caticlan, and Legazpi. Expanded services are also set for Cebu, connecting it to destinations like Bacolod, Butuan, Siargao, and Puerto Princesa.
Wide-body aircraft will be deployed on high-demand regional routes, including Manila to Tokyo Narita, Bangkok, and Singapore, to accommodate increased passenger volumes.
In addition, PAL will launch a daily Manila-Cauayan service starting 15 January 2025, providing Northern Luzon residents with a faster alternative to the 10-hour land trip between Cauayan and Manila.
This seasonal ramp-up follows recent network expansions, which saw increased frequencies on routes such as Manila to Hanoi, Cotabato, Cebu, and Tagbilaran. PAL’s holiday operations underscore its dedication to connecting more travelers to their destinations with ease.
