Philippine Airlines (PAL) is set to boost its trans-Pacific connectivity by increasing the frequency of its Manila-Seattle route to five weekly flights beginning 25 November 2025. The announcement comes just a year after PAL launched the direct service in October 2024, which currently operates three times a week. The expansion reaffirms the growing demand for the only nonstop link between the Philippines and the U.S. Pacific Northwest.
Starting late November 2025, PAL will add Tuesday and Thursday departures from both Manila and Seattle, complementing the existing Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday services. The new schedule will offer travelers increased flexibility and more options to tailor their itineraries, especially for those connecting from PAL’s extensive network across the Philippines, Southeast Asia, North Asia, and Greater China.
The route expansion also strengthens PAL’s strategic partnership with Alaska Airlines. Passengers flying into Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, Alaska Airlines’ largest hub on the U.S. West Coast, can seamlessly connect to cities across the United States. The two airlines also maintain a frequent-flyer agreement, offering added benefits for loyal customers.
“Our decision to increase frequencies to Seattle highlights the importance of the U.S. market to the Philippine Airlines global network, and in particular the great value of Seattle as a gateway, not just to the Washington and Oregon areas, but to cities across the United States that we can now serve through our ongoing partnership with Alaska Airlines. We are focusing strongly on developing this growing market to help Americans plan their vacation trips to the Philippines and other Asian countries, to open up more opportunities for businesses to build up commercial activities, and for Filipino Americans to reunite more often with their families back in the home country,” according to PAL President Richard Nuttall.
PAL’s long-range Boeing B777-300ER aircraft will operate the enhanced service, offering 370 seats: 42 in Business Class and 328 in Economy Class. The increased frequency also brings expanded cargo capacity of up to 40 tons weekly, enabling enhanced trade links via interline and trucking connections to other U.S. states.
With Seattle included, Philippine Airlines now operates nonstop flights to eight destinations in North America: New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Vancouver, Toronto, Honolulu, Guam, and Seattle. This latest development aligns with the airline’s long-term strategy to grow travel and commerce between the Philippines and the United States.
Flight Schedule (effective 25 November 2025):
- PR124 Manila–Seattle (Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sun):
Departs 2240H (arrives same day 1935H or 1835H during daylight saving) - PR125 Seattle–Manila (Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sun):
Departs 2230H (or 2130H during daylight savings), arrives Manila at 0405H (+2 days)
This expansion reinforces PAL’s role as a key bridge between the Philippines and North America, offering travelers and businesses alike more choices and better access across continents.
