Philippine Airlines to Launch Nonstop Cebu–Guam Flights Starting December 2025

Philippine Airlines (PAL) is strengthening its regional network with the introduction of nonstop Cebu (CEB | RPVM) – Guam (GUM | PGUM) flights beginning 16 December 2025. The flag carrier announced that the thrice-weekly service will establish the only direct air link between the two destinations, complementing PAL’s existing daily Manila–Guam route.

The new service is expected to reinforce PAL’s leadership in providing connectivity between Guam and Southeast Asia, while positioning Cebu as a stronger international hub for business and leisure travel. It reflects PAL’s strategy to broaden its international reach beyond Manila, making travel more accessible for passengers across the Visayas and Mindanao.

Under the new schedule, flights from Cebu to Guam will depart every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 2140H, arriving at 0325H local time. Return flights from Guam will operate every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, departing at 0515H and arriving in Cebu at 0650H. The route will be served by PAL’s Airbus A321ceo aircraft, known for its efficiency on regional routes.

“This new service enhances Cebu’s role as a strategic gateway to international markets, while providing Guam’s large Filipino community and travelers from the U.S. Pacific territory direct access to the Visayas and Mindanao regions. It reflects our commitment to growing our network and supporting economic and tourism flows between the Philippines and Guam,” according to Richard Nuttall, President, Philippine Airlines.

Athanasios Titonis, Chief Executive Officer of Aboitiz Infracapital Cebu Airport Corporation, highlighted the broader benefits of the new route, “We are delighted to bring back direct flights to the United States with the launch of the Cebu–Guam route. This route not only makes island-to-island travel faster and more efficient but also creates a stronger gateway for visitors from the U.S. Pacific territories and Asia, boosting tourism and economic exchange for both destinations.”

From Cebu, PAL already operates flights to key international cities, including Ho Chi Minh, Incheon, Narita, and Osaka, along with extensive domestic links to Manila, Siargao, Bacolod, Iloilo, Puerto Princesa, Davao, and other destinations. The addition of Guam provides more options for seamless same-day connections to international markets.

Guam is home to a Filipino community that makes up nearly 30% of its 179,000 residents. By adding Cebu–Guam flights, PAL aims to cater to this significant diaspora while expanding opportunities for tourism, trade, and cultural exchange. Guam also serves as a vital link in PAL’s broader U.S. network, which includes flights to Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Seattle, and Honolulu.

PAL’s history with Guam dates back to 31 July 1946, when the airline first landed on the island during its pioneering DC-4 trans-Pacific service. Nearly eight decades later, the launch of direct Cebu–Guam flights underscores PAL’s enduring commitment to connecting Filipinos worldwide and fostering stronger ties between the Philippines and the U.S. Pacific territory.
