The Department of Transportation (DOTr) is spearheading ambitious plans for the country’s aviation and airports sector. Collaborating with its affiliated entities, namely the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), and Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA), the DOTr is unwavering in its commitment to creating a more interconnected and world-class aviation infrastructure.
The DOTr has launched an array of rehabilitation and modernization projects across various airports, with a primary focus on elevating the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA/MNL) to international standards. In addition, significant improvements are in progress at Clark International Airport (CRK), alongside the commencement of land development for the ambitious New Manila International Airport in Bulacan.
Simultaneously, airport enhancement initiatives are in full swing in Bohol-Panglao, Zamboanga, General Santos, Virac, Puerto Princesa, Ormoc, Calbayog, Dumaguete, Catarman, Butuan, and Camiguin. These projects aim to usher in a new era of efficiency and excellence in the country’s air travel infrastructure.
