Philippine Aviation Summit 2025 Set to Showcase Nation’s Path Toward Becoming Asia’s Next Aviation Hub

The Philippines is preparing to highlight its growing role in the regional aviation industry as it hosts the Philippine Aviation Summit 2025 on 08 to 09 October 2025 at the Marriott Hotel Manila in Pasay City.

Organized by the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) and the Asian Business Aviation Association (AsBAA), the two-day summit will gather top government officials, aviation regulators, industry executives, and international stakeholders. With the theme “Steady Flight: Philippine Aviation into the Global Arena,” the event will examine opportunities and challenges shaping the country’s aviation future.

The summit will tackle pressing themes critical to the industry’s advancement, including infrastructure development, public-private partnerships, foreign investment, regulatory reforms, workforce upskilling, and sustainability initiatives. Discussions are expected to address how these factors can drive the Philippines’ aspiration to become a premier aviation hub in Asia.

Among the leading voices at the summit is Department of Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco, who will highlight the connection between aviation growth and tourism development. Department of Transportation Undersecretary for Aviation and Airports Jim Sydiongco will share insights into government initiatives aimed at improving airport operations and regulatory frameworks.

The international perspective will be provided by Samuel David, Country Manager for the Philippines at the International Air Transport Association (IATA), who will discuss the nation’s role within the broader Asia-Pacific aviation landscape. Kurt Edwards, Director General of the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC), will bring global expertise on business aviation standards and opportunities.

Local industry leaders will also play a key role in the discussions. Joseph Alcazar, President of Clark International Airport Corporation, is expected to outline strategies for strengthening the country’s airport network. Meanwhile, Civil Aeronautics Board Executive Director Atty. Carmelo L. Arcilla will focus on regulatory reforms designed to attract investment and enhance competitiveness.

Philippine Airlines (PAL) will serve as Co-Presenter and Official Carrier of the event, highlighting its vital role in expanding connectivity and reinforcing the Philippines’ position in global aviation. The summit has also secured wide-ranging support from both government and private partners. These include the Department of Tourism (DOT), the Department of Transportation (DOTr), the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), OnePH Aviation, Cebu Pacific, and Skytrack Aviation Services. The event also enjoys diplomatic support from the Embassies of Sweden and Spain, as well as the Delegation of the European Union to the Philippines.

The timing of the summit aligns with the Philippines’ ongoing transformation in the aviation sector. The country now ranks second in ASEAN in terms of the number of airports, with 90 facilities nationwide. Major developments are underway, including nine new airport projects and reforms spurred by the amended Public Service Act, which allows full foreign ownership in aviation and other transport sectors.

The Business and General Aviation (BGA) segment is also on the rise, boasting a fleet of over 600 aircraft that support vital industries such as energy, mining, and emergency response. Parallel efforts in modernizing air traffic management and upgrading airport infrastructure are expected to further enhance operational efficiency and safety standards.

By fostering collaboration, innovation, and investment, the Philippine Aviation Summit 2025 seeks to position the country as a key player in regional and global aviation. With the support of stakeholders across sectors, the event is seen as a critical platform for shaping the future of air transport in the Philippines.
