PHL Government Suspends Passenger Flight Operations

To help further mitigate the spread of COVID-19, The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) on 3 May 2020, Sunday, issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) suspending inbound international passenger/commercial flights to the Philippines for one week starting on 3 May at 8 am.

The move came after the CAAP through the Department of Transportation (DOTr) received a letter from Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) chief implementer Secretary Carlito Galvez, Jr. requesting the suspension.

9 international airports in the country will be covered by the NOTAM on the suspension of inbound international flights: Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Davao International Airport, Clark International Airport, Iloilo International Airport, Mactan-Cebu International Airport, Zamboanga International Airport, Kalibo International Airport, Laoag International Airport, Puerto Princesa International Airport.

Cargo flights, sweeper flights, medical flights, utility flights, and maintenance flights are exempted in the suspension and will remain unhampered. Outbound international commercial flights with IATF and Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) coordination and approval will be allowed.
