SIA Engineering Philippines Becomes First Embraer E2 Jets Authorized Service Center in Asia-Pacific

SIA Engineering (Philippines) Corporation (SIAEP), a subsidiary of SIA Engineering Company Limited (SIAEC), has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first Embraer Authorized Service Center for E-Jets E2 in the Asia-Pacific region. This partnership enables SIAEP to provide comprehensive maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services for Embraer’s latest generation of E-Jets.

SIAEP has been an authorized service provider for Embraer’s first-generation E-Jets since 2017. Located in Clark, Philippines, the company operates three advanced hangars equipped to handle a wide range of aircraft services. The new agreement enhances SIAEP’s strategic role as Embraer’s E2 fleet continues to grow in the Asia-Pacific market.

Frank Stevens, Vice President of Global MRO Centers for Embraer Services & Support, expressed his satisfaction with the extended partnership, stating, “SIAEP has been a key partner for Embraer in the region in the last years. With this new agreement, SIAEP becomes even more strategic for the future of our company in the region, as the E2 fleet grows.”

The expansion of Embraer’s services in the Asia-Pacific region aligns with the company’s broader growth strategy. Embraer’s E-Jets, including the E2, are currently operated by airlines in countries such as Singapore, Australia, India, Japan, and China. Notably, Scoot, a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, recently added the E190-E2 to its fleet, marking the first E-Jet E2 operation in Southeast Asia.

Jeremy Yew, Senior Vice President of Base Maintenance at SIAEC, echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the company’s commitment to providing high-quality maintenance services. “We are delighted to extend our existing partnership with Embraer and play a key role in supporting their growth in the Asia-Pacific region,” Yew said.

This development is not expected to have a material impact on SIAEC’s net tangible assets or earnings for the fiscal year ending 31 March 2025. However, it reinforces the company’s position as a leading MRO provider in the region, serving over 80 international carriers and manufacturers across its extensive network of facilities and partnerships.

SIAEP’s Clark facility offers a wide range of MRO services, including aircraft certification, structural inspections, painting, and non-destructive testing. With regulatory approvals from 18 national aviation authorities, the company is well-positioned to support the growing demand for MRO services in the region.
