SWISS International Air Lines (SWISS) is set to tantalize the taste buds of its First and Business Class travelers with delectable culinary specialties from Canton Bern on its long-haul flights. Additionally, passengers in SWISS Premium Economy Class will also have the opportunity to savor a delightful three-course meal featuring Bern-inspired delicacies.

For the next three (03) months, SWISS will be treating its First and Business Class passengers to the culinary expertise of the Michelin-starred and 15-GaultMillau-point ‘Aux Trois Amis’ restaurant, situated in the picturesque Lake Biel winegrowing region amidst the vineyards between Biel and La Neuveville.

With a legacy of almost 130 years in hospitality and tradition, ‘Aux Trois Amis’ has gained recognition for its innovative reinterpretations of classic regional dishes. Under the ‘SWISS Taste of Switzerland’ collaboration, Chef de Cuisine Marc Joshua Engel has crafted a selection of light and summery specialties inspired by his own culinary adventures in Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. To complement the dining experience, Sommelière and Chef de Service Cynthia Lauper have curated an exquisite selection of wines, ensuring a memorable inflight journey for SWISS guests.

“The ‘Aux Trois Amis’ seamlessly blends Bernese cuisine with global influences, creating a truly unique dining experience. The combination of hearty desserts and fresh herbs is a particular highlight. We are delighted to offer these creations to our SWISS inflight guests,” according to Julia Hillenbrand, Head of Brand Experience at SWISS.

In addition to First and Business Class passengers, SWISS Premium Economy Class customers flying from Switzerland will have the option to indulge in a delectable three-course meal featuring regional specialties from Canton Bern.

Since December 2002, SWISS has been taking its First, Business, and Premium Economy Class travelers on a culinary journey across Switzerland’s diverse regions on its long-haul services. Every three months, a distinguished Michelin-starred chef and GaultMillau-rated culinary expert is invited to create a delightful selection of top-quality dishes from their respective “home” canton, with an emphasis on regional and seasonal specialties. The meals are thoughtfully paired with wines and cheeses sourced from the featured region. Over the past two decades, the acclaimed ‘SWISS Taste of Switzerland’ program has welcomed 78 guest chefs, representing all 26 cantons of Switzerland, on board its flights, marking a remarkable success story in celebrating the country’s gastronomic heritage.
