Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) takes flight with a renewed commitment to Swiss football. The airline has secured a four-year extension to its existing partnership with the Swiss Football Association (SFA), solidifying its position as the Official Airline of Switzerland’s National Football Teams. This extended agreement takes effect immediately and runs until June 2028.
By continuing this strong collaboration, SWISS reaffirms its unwavering support for Swiss sports at the national level. This commitment extends beyond the pitch, as SWISS will provide a comprehensive range of air travel solutions for all 14 of Switzerland’s national football teams. This includes not just the prestigious men’s and women’s “A” teams, but also the dedicated youth and beach football squads.
“Football is a global phenomenon, uniting people across continents. As the leading airline in Switzerland, we take immense pride in supporting the Swiss football scene. Just like football, SWISS brings people together, and teamwork is fundamental to our success. We extend our best wishes to the Swiss team in Germany and eagerly anticipate continuing our support in the years to come,” explains Heike Birlenbach, Chief Commercial Officer at SWISS.
The sentiment is echoed by Robert Breiter, General Secretary of the SFA, “We are incredibly grateful and thrilled to extend our partnership with SWISS. This collaboration, built on trust and a shared pursuit of international excellence, has flourished for several years. We look forward to continuing this journey with such a reliable and esteemed partner.”
This extended partnership exemplifies SWISS’s long-standing dedication to promoting Swiss sports, particularly national-level competitions. Beyond its collaboration with the SFA, SWISS proudly holds the title of Official Airline for Swiss Athletics and the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation. In addition, the airline partners with Swiss Olympic, Swiss Paralympic, and Swiss Ski.
SWISS’s commitment extends beyond national borders, actively supporting top international sporting events held in Switzerland. Renowned competitions like the Lauberhorn ski races in Wengen and the Weltklasse Zürich athletics meeting benefit from SWISS’s involvement.
