AirAsia Philippines continues to champion domestic tourism as it takes center stage as the official airline partner of the Sandugo Festival 2025 in Bohol. In collaboration with the Provincial Government of Bohol, the airline is rolling out a series of promotional seat sales and cultural festivities to encourage more travelers to visit the province during the historic celebration.
The Sandugo Festival commemorates the 1565 blood compact or “Sandugo” between Spanish explorer Miguel López de Legazpi and Boholano chieftain Datu Sikatuna, widely considered the first recorded treaty of friendship between the Philippines and Spain. The annual event is a major draw for both local and international tourists, celebrating the province’s rich heritage through music, dance, and community gatherings.
As part of its participation, AirAsia is launching a flash seat sale to Tagbilaran with one-way base fares starting at just PHP376. The 48-hour promotion runs from 31 July 2025 to 01 August 2025, covering travel dates between 08 August 2025 and 30 November 2025. Over 1.1 million seats will be up for grabs across all domestic routes during this limited-time campaign.
Following the flash sale, travelers can still enjoy discounted fares through the Sandugo seat sale, with one-way base fares from PHP407. This extended offer is available until 03 August 2025, for travel until 30 June 2026, giving passengers more flexibility to plan their trips to Bohol and beyond.
According to AirAsia Philippines CEO Capt. Suresh Bangah, the campaign aligns with the airline’s broader initiative to promote cultural tourism through its “AirAsia Fiesta Series.”
“A recently concluded travel survey revealed that major entertainment events–such as concerts–are one of the top considerations in shaping travel decisions for most Filipinos. This is our way of driving the growth of Bohol’s local tourism by connecting more people to these events as we mark the third leg of our nationwide tourism campaign ‘AirAsia Fiesta Series’ all while ensuring we continue to make travel accessible and affordable,” according to Capt. Bangah.
Capping off the Sandugo festivities, AirAsia will host a FREE concert on 08 August 2025 at Bantawan, Old Tagbilaran Airport. The event will feature live performances by popular Filipino acts Earl Agustin and Cup of Joe, promising festival-goers a night of music and cultural celebration.
