AirAsia Philippines (Z2) is strengthening its presence in Central Visayas with the launch of a direct route from Cebu to Bangkok, positioning the Queen City of the South as a strategic international gateway. The new connection, starting 11 June 2026, is part of the airline’s broader plan to enhance regional travel options and provide seamless access to key destinations across ASEAN and beyond.
The daily flights (7x weekly) will depart Cebu (CEB) at 0405H and arrive in Bangkok (DMK) at 0705H, giving travelers more time to maximize their itineraries with direct connections from Cebu. Bangkok’s Don Mueang Airport serves as one of the mega hubs of the AirAsia Aviation Group, offering passengers from Cebu convenient onward travel to Thailand’s 25 domestic destinations and over 60 international locations across Asia.
| Flight Number | Departure | Arrival | STD | STA | Flight Time | Frequency |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Z2 7330 | CEB | DMK | 0405H | 0705H | 04 hours | Daily |

This new route also strengthens inbound tourism to Central Visayas, one of the Philippines’ most visited regions. Data from the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) shows that the region welcomed 31.5 million international visitors between 2000 and 2024. Cebu is renowned for its vibrant urban attractions, rich historical landmarks, world-class diving spots, and picturesque islands and waterfalls, making it a prime destination for both leisure and business travelers.
Since establishing its Cebu hub in November 2025, AirAsia Philippines has expanded connectivity from the city with routes to Macao, Kuala Lumpur, Caticlan, and Davao. The addition of Bangkok enhances the airline’s commitment to providing accessible, low-cost travel options throughout the Visayas and improving regional air mobility.
AirAsia Philippines is also expanding its Manila international network in response to growing passenger demand. Starting 30 March 2026, flights between Manila (MNL) and Taipei (TPE) will see an increase with five additional weekly services. From 03 April 2026, the Manila (MNL) – Kaohsiung (KHH) route will gain four extra weekly flights, while Manila (MNL) – Macao (MFM) flights will be boosted by three more weekly services beginning 04 April 2026.
These developments underline AirAsia Philippines’ strategy to strengthen its hubs in both Cebu and Manila, enabling travelers across the Philippines to access key ASEAN destinations more conveniently. By expanding flight frequencies and launching new routes, the airline aims to cater to the growing appetite for international travel while supporting tourism and economic growth in the country.
With the Cebu–Bangkok route, AirAsia Philippines continues to demonstrate its role as a leading low-cost carrier in the region, providing more choices for travelers and reinforcing the Philippines’ connectivity with Southeast Asia.
