Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL | PR) has officially touched down with another key addition to its long-haul widebody fleet, welcoming its third Airbus A350-1000 into Manila. The state-of-the-art jetliner, bearing registration RP-C3512, represents another crucial milestone in the airline’s comprehensive fleet modernization strategy and international route growth plan.
Fresh from the Airbus assembly facilities and delivery center in Toulouse (TLS), France, the long-range twin-engine aircraft completed its long ferry flight across continents to reach its primary hub at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA | MNL). Prior to welcoming commercial passengers on long-haul sectors, RP-C3512 will undergo standard regulatory inspections, final operational preparations, and line familiarization procedures required by civil aviation authorities.
Serving as the undisputed flagship of the flag carrier’s intercontinental operations, the Airbus A350-1000 offers substantial operating advantages over older widebody equipment. Built with advanced aerodynamic architecture and powered by fuel-efficient Trent XWB engines, the aircraft delivers significantly reduced fuel burn, lower carbon emissions, and expanded belly cargo payload capacity compared to previous-generation airframes. Onboard, passengers will experience the carrier’s newest cabin interior, which features premium Business Class suites, a dedicated Premium Economy section, and ergonomically designed Economy Class seats. Philippine Airlines retains the distinction of being the first and only carrier across Southeast Asia to operate this flagship variant of the A350 family.
Transpacific travelers will soon get the opportunity to experience the new flagship jetliner firsthand. Philippine Airlines is scheduled to debut the A350-1000 on its high-demand route connecting Manila (MNL) and San Francisco (SFO) starting 05 August 2026. The service will operate three times weekly on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays before transitioning into a full daily frequency beginning in September 2026, bringing enhanced passenger comfort and expanded capacity to the transpacific corridor.
The delivery of RP-C3512 marks the third aircraft received from the airline’s original firm order for nine A350-1000 jets placed in 2023. Building on this momentum, Philippine Airlines further expanded its widebody commitments at the Farnborough International Airshow by announcing orders for nine additional A350-1000s and fifteen Boeing 787-10 Dreamliners, alongside options for five more of each aircraft type. These multi-billion-dollar investments solidify the carrier’s long-term objective to modernize its long-haul fleet and reinforce its international network footprint across North America and beyond.
