CAAP Implements Flight Restrictions at the NAIA from May 11 to June 10

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), all inbound international charter and commercial flights landing at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) will have assigned days effective Monday, 11 May 2020 until Wednesday, 10 June 2020.

Based on a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) released by the CAAP Operations Center, all inbound international chartered flights will only be allowed to land every Mondays and Thursdays, provided that they secure a clearance from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and CAAP for slotting purposes.

For all inbound international commercial flights (scheduled), they will only be allowed every Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays provided that they secure approval from CAAP at least forty-eight (48) hours before the scheduled departure from the airport of origin. This is done so that necessary slotting and rescheduling of flights will be in accordance with the 400 passengers per day capacity of the NAIA.

Exceptions to the NOTAM will be made to all en route flights experiencing an emergency, ferry flights, cargo flights, air ambulance and medical supplies flights, government/military flights, weather mitigation flights, maintenance flights, and outbound ferry flights/cargo flights with passengers, as authorized.

The CAAP clarified that these restrictions will be applicable to the NAIA only. Other international airports in the country will have their separate restrictions.
